CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 3RD DECEMBER SALEYARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 2352 Numbers lifted by 396 for a yarding of 2352 cattle. Quality was good with excellent runs of feeder weight cattle on offer. Heavy prime cattle and cows were in limited supply and sought after. All regular buyers were present. Prime yearling steers lifted 10c, selling from 288c to 355c, while prime yearling heifers were firm to slightly cheaper at 250c to 320c/kg. Feeder steers were up 4c (310c to 387c/kg) with feeder heifers gaining 15c (262c to 333c/kg). Lightweight cattle to the re-stockers were also dearer with steers reaching 420c and heifers 326c/kg. Prime grown steers were up to 20c dearer (260c to 352c/kg), with prime heifers 6c dearer (262c to 341c/kg). Cows appeared to be 5c stronger with 2 and 3 scores selling from 200c to 276c/kg, and heavy prime cows 275c to 286c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 310c/kg. LAMB & SHEEP SALE DATE: 4TH DECEMBER SALEYARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 8730/ TOTAL LAMB YARDING: 6615/ TOTAL SHEEP YARDING: 2115 Numbers halved from last week with a yarding of 6615 lambs. Quality was mixed with mainly lightweight store lambs penned along with some good runs of trade weights and limited supplies of heavies. Most of the regular buyers were operating. Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg were back $5, with new season lambs selling from $50 to $140, older lambs $90 to $140/head. Lightweight store lambs under 20kg were also down $5 selling from $50 to $171/head. Trade weights 20kg to 24kg lifted $5 to $8, with new season lambs selling from $175 to $220, averaging 840c to 880c/kg cwt. Old lambs $179 to $220/head. Heavy weight new season lambs over 24kg held firm selling from $223 to $260/head, averaging between 860c and 910c/kg cwt. Heavy hoggets reached $180/head. There was 2115 mixed quality mutton yarded, and prices lifted $5 to $10 across most grades. Merino ewes sold from $51 to $125 with cross bred ewes $65 to $150/ head. Heavy cross bred wethers sold to $130 and rams to $40/head.
