CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 26TH NOVEMBER SALEYARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 1956 Numbers were back by 406 for a yarding of 1956 cattle. Quality was good with medium to heavyweight feeders the best supplied, along with good runs of heavy prime cattle mixed throughout. Most of the regular buyers were present. Prime yearling steers held firm selling from 300c to 348c, while prime yearling heifers were 10c dearer and more in places, 270c to 327c/kg. Feeder steers lifted 15c, 278c to 382c, while feeder heifers were up 10c, 241c to 314c/kg. Lightweight cattle suitable for re-stockers were dearer, with steers selling from 300c to 35c and heifers 230c to 290c/kg. Prime grown cattle were firm to cheaper, heavy steers sold from 255c to 332c/kg. Cows lifted 5c with 2 and 3 scores selling from 225c to 271c/kg. Heavy prime cows 268c to 282c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 320c/kg. Quality was good with new season trade weight and store lambs the best supplied, with limited numbers of heavyweights. All the regular buyers were present, and the sold dearer to trend. Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg were $10 better, new season lambs sold from $66 to $148 and old lambs $85 to $145/head. Lightweight store lambs under 20kg were also dearer, selling from $55 to $170/head. Trade weights 20kg to 24kg were up $15 with new season lambs selling between $172 and $215, averaging 830c to 870c/kg cwt, old lambs $165 to $202/head. Heavyweights over 24kg were up to $20 dearer. New season lambs sold from $218 to $266 and old lambs $221 to $265/head to average between 880c and 900c/kg cwt. Heavy hoggets reached $170/head. There was 5922 mixed quality mutton yarded, and prices lifted $15 across most grades. Merino ewes sold from $30 to $120 with crossbred ewes $53 to $135/head. Merino wethers sold from $20 to $120 and crossbred wethers reached $130/head.
