CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER SALE YARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 1471 Numbers lifted by 343 for a yarding of 1471 cattle. Quality was good with heavy prime cattle well supplied along with good numbers of feeder weights. All the regular buyers were present. Prime yearling steers fell 15c selling from 330c to 365c, while prime yearling heifers gained 8c, 320c to 372c/kg. Feeder steers were firm to slightly cheaper, 302c to 420c, and feeder heifers were down 12c, 255c to 378c/kg. Prime grown steers sold 12c dearer, 311c to 360c, while prime grown heifers dropped 14c,270c to 365c/kg. Cows were 10c softer, 2 and 3 scores sold from 230c to 310c, and heavy prime cows, 305c to 330c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 316c/kg. Quality was mixed with good numbers of heavy weights on offer, trade lambs were also well supplied along with leaner secondary lambs. All the regular buyers were present, and the market sold to a stronger trend. Trade weight new season lambs 20kg to 24Kg sold from $175 to $213/head, most selling between 830c and 870c/kg cwt. Old processing light lambs to 18kg gained $10, $66 to $130/head. Trade lambs 20kg to 24Kg lifted $15, $162 to $210/head, averaging 820c to 870c/kg. Heavy lambs over 24kg were $8 dearer, $217 to $250/head to average between 860c and 880c/kg cwt. Heavy hoggets reached $209/head. There was 2331 mixed quality mutton yarded, and prices eased $3 across most grades. Merino ewes sold from $40 to $145 and crossbred ewes, $45 to $122/ head. Merino Wethers sold from $30 to $123 and crossbred Wethers reached $108/head. Most sold between 360c and 400c/kg cwt.
