Quality was mixed with good supplies of feeder weight cattle, along with lighter secondary types. Heavy prime cattle were limited. Most of the regular buyers were operating. Young cattle to the trade dropped 20c, prime yearling steers selling from 415c to 440c, and prime yearling heifers, 360c to 430c/kg. Feeder steers eased 5c selling from 400c to 505c, and feeder heifers held firm, 400c to 444c/kg. Steers back to the paddock reached 475c, and restocker heifers to 440c/kg. Prime grown cattle were 20c cheaper, with heavy steers selling from 370c to 440c, and heavy heifers, 365c to 425c/kg. Cows were back 5c to 10c, 2 and 3 scores sold from 230c to 395c, and heavy prime cows, 370c to 406c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 400c/kg. Quality improved with better yarding of trade and heavy lambs. Lightweight secondary types were still well supplied. Most of the regular buyers were operating. Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg were $20 dearer, selling from $152 to $202/head. Trade weights 20kg to 24kg were $10 better, they sold from $214 to $260/head, averaging 1040c to 1070c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs over 24kg, also up $10, selling from $250 to $323/head, averaging 1050c/kg cwt. Re-stockers paid up to $226 for light lambs, and heavy hoggets reached $297/head. There were 5355 mixed quality mutton yarded and prices were firm. Merino ewes sold from $90 to $232, and crossbred ewes, $128 to $288/ head.
