CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 23RD JULY 2024 SALE YARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 1790 Numbers remained similar to last week with 1790 cattle yarded. Quality was good with a large supply of heavy prime yearlings and grown cattle along with the regular supply of feeder weights. All the regular buyers were present. Young cattle to the trade were 15c to 20c dearer, prime yearling steers sold from 360c to 385c and yearling heifers, 290c to 368c/kg. Feeder steers gained 20c, 320c to 411c, while feeder heifers lifted 10c, 290c to 351c/kg. FAT LAMB & SHEEP SALE DATE: WEDNESDAY 24TH JULY 2024 SALE YARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 9472/ TOTAL LAMB YARDING: 7195 / TOTAL SHEEP YARDING: 2277 Numbers lifted by 1660 for a yarding of 7195 lambs. Quality was mixed with much of the yarding consisting of light store lambs and trade weights along with a few pens of heavy lambs. Not all the regular buyers were present, and the market sold $20 to $30 cheaper across most grades. Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg were $15 to $20 cheaper, $58 to $141/head. Trade lambs 20kg to 24Kg fell $25, $165 to $194/head, averaging 750c to 800c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs were $30 cheaper, 24Kg to 26kg lambs sold from $195 to $210 and lambs over 26kg, $215 to $260/head to average between reached $185/head. Prime grown cattle were firm to 5c 790c and 810c/kg cwt. The best hoggets cheaper, heavy steers sold from 302c to 380c, and heavy heifers, 270c to 360c/kg. Cows eased 5c, 2 and 3 scores sold from 170c to 288c and heavy prime cows, 280c to 333c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 290c/kg.
