CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 13TH JANUARY 2026 SALEYARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 3419 (+2295) The first sale of the year saw 3,419 cattle yarded. Quality was good with lightweight cattle suitable for feeders and re-stockers well supplied, along with good lines of well finished cattle. Cows and grown cattle were also in large numbers. Most of the regular buyers were operating in a strong market. Prime yearling steers sold from 420c to 470c, and prime yearling heifers, 370c to 441c/ kg. Feeder steers sold from 438c to 500c, and feeder heifers, 380c to 470c/kg. Steers to re-stockers sold to 442c, and heifers, to 455c/kg. Prime grown steers sold from 390c to 478c, and prime grown heifers, 362c to 467c/kg. Cows sold strong, 2 and 3 scores selling from 200c to 396c, and heavy prime cows, 392c to 408c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 414c/kg. Quality was mostly plain with lambs showing signs of dry conditions. There were limited supplies of good trade and heavy lambs. Most of the regular buyers were operating and the market sold to a cheaper trend. Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg sold from $110 to $200/head. Trade weights 20kg to 24kg sold from $200 to $250, and heavy lambs over 24kg sold from $230 to $288/head. Carcass prices averaged between 960c and 1020c/kg cwt. Light store lambs to re-stockers sold to $224, and heavy hoggets reached $250/head. There was 4923 mutton yarded of mostly plain quality, however prices followed a dearer trend. Merino ewes sold from $60 to $218, and crossbred ewes, $138 to $285/ head. Merino Wethers sold from $178 to $212/head. Crossbred Wethers sold to $250 and rams to $150/head.
