Orange Tenpin BOWL BAYS Order of Australia Honours Jason Belmonte AM HEY HEY EVERYONE! I'll do my best to keep this explanation simple about the PBA events I'm competing in this March. By the end of the PBA World Series of Bowling XVI, some of us will have bowled nearly 100 games-it's crazy how much bowling we're squeezing into just 21 days! The further you advance in each event- making the top 24, top 16, top 8, and eventually the top 5 for the TV finals- the more games you end up playing. We're all battling to qualify for the final event, the PBA World Series of Bowling (WSOB) Championship, with 200 bowlers vying for a spot. To get there, we first compete in four tournaments: PBA WSOB Scorpion Championship PBA WSOB Viper Championship PBA WSOB Chameleon Championship PBA WSOB Shark Championship Each of these tournaments has its own finals, and the total pinfall from all four contributes toward qualifying for the WSOB World Championship. The top 50 bowlers advance to another 16 games, then the field is cut to the top 16 for match play. From there, the top 5 move on to the TV stepladder finals. I've been bowling great, making cuts, and advancing through the stages of each tournament.
