Orange Tenpin BOWL BAYS Order of Australia Honours Jason Belmonte AM HEY HEY ORANGE! Jason is in full competition mode and wasn't able to send through his blog this week, so we thought we'd share a quick update with you instead. The US Open is one of the most gruelling events in bowling, with incredibly challenging lane conditions and a tough format. Jason is currently holding a Top 10 position, sitting in 6th place, with two more rounds to go. After 24 games of qualifying, the field will be cut to the Top 36, who will bowl a further 8 games. From there, it cuts again to the Top 24 bowlers, who then move into a head-to-head match play format, with total pinfall carrying over. At the end of it all, the bowler holding up the Big Eagle trophy will be crowned the winner. Fingers crossed that it will be our Belmo lifting that trophy for the second time in his career. If he does, he'll have won every major championship twice, which would make PBA history. Jason has already won the other majors multiple times, but the US Open has only been conquered by him once so far.
