CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 31ST MARCH 2026 SALE YARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 2142 (-766) Numbers were back by 766 for a yarding of 2142 cattle. Quality was good with large numbers of feeder weight steers on offer, along with lighter weaner cattle suitable for re-stockers. There was very limited supply of prime fat cattle and heavy cows. Not all the regular buyers were operating and the market sold cheaper. LAMB & SHEEP SALE DATE: WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL 2026 TOTAL YARDING: 3870 (-2822) SHEEP YARDING: 1593 (-1454) LAMB YARDING: 2277 (-1368) Numbers were back by 1368 for a small yarding of 2277 lambs. Quality was mixed with good supplies of trade and heavy lambs, along with the regular supply of lighter store types. Not all the regular buyers were operating and the market sold firm to a few dollars dearer. Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg sold from $120 to $200/head. Trade weights 20kg to 24kg ranged from $268 to $310/head. Heavy lambs over 24kg sold from $284 to $355/head. Carcass prices averaged around 1220c/kg cwt. Young cattle to the trade were too few to quote, prime yearling steers sold to 531c and prime yearling heifers to 445c/ kg. Feeder steers were 20c cheaper, selling from 433c to 541c, and feeder heifers were back 15c, 425c to 473c/kg. Light lambs to re-stockers sold to $266, Lightweight steers to re-stockers sold to 542c, and lightweight heifers to 454c/kg. Prime grown cattle were firm, heavy steers sold from 370c to 450c, and heavy heifers, 400c to 465c/kg. Cows eased 3c, 2 and 3 scores sold from 150c to 368c and heavy prime cows, 360c to 380c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 384c/kg. and heavy hoggets reached $240/head. There was 1593 mixed quality mutton yarded, and prices were firm to $5 better. Merino ewes sold from $144 to $230, and crossbred ewes, $195 to $289/head. Merino Wethers sold from $205 to $240, and crossbred Wethers, $190 to $261/ head. Heavy rams sold to $180/head. Most sheep sold in the range of 840c to 880c/kg cwt.
