About
Orange City Rugby Club has a proud rugby history, going back to 1973 when it was established by Tony Hoy, Nick Thompson, Rory McDowell, and the Blunt Brothers.
Our inaugural First XV took to the field during the 1974 season. Those first few seasons were tough, but the camaraderie that the foundation players built over those early years set the club in good stead for the future.
Over our 46 year history we have won a total of 12 first grade premierships in Central West District Rugby Union competition. Our reserve grades and junior grades have also enjoyed many successes over the years.
Our Junior grades joined the ranks in 1985, with many of those players now coming full circle and playing a huge part in coaching our current junior teams.
Our Women’s team is in its infancy, and growing every year as more ladies take the field to enjoy the game of rugby, and being part of the Orange City Rugby Club.
One of our foundation attributes is our commitment and hard work, both on and off the field, with the spirit of mateship and family at the forefront of all that we do.
