CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 2ND JUNE 2026 SALE YARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 2076 (-1124) Wet conditions reduced numbers and the quality was a little plainer with an increase in plainer stock. There were still good lines of feeder cattle, and the number of trade cattle was reduced with feeders after numbers and purchased more weight and condition. Grown steers were again in short supply and there was more variation in the grown heifers with less prime heavy weights penned. Around 400 cows were offered, and the quality was back through the run. The market sold to a much stronger trend. Weaner steers reached 642c and heifers 553c/kg. Feeder steers were 25c to 30c/kg stronger with the medium and heavy weights selling from 500c to 572c/kg, feeder heifers were 30c to 40c better, selling from 470c to 545c/kg, the bulk over 500c/kg. Heavy trade heifers reached 485c/kg. Grown steers to feed reached 526c and prime grown steers and bullocks were 12c dearer selling from 468c to 495c/kg. The best of the heavy grown heifers reached 488c/kg. Heavy cows were 10c to 14c stronger with the bulk ranging from 385c to 430c and the leaner 2 score cows jumped nearly 20c/kg and ranged from 355c to 396c/kg. The best heavy bull sold to 440c/kg. SHEEP & LAMB SALE DATE: WEDNESDAY 3RD JUNE 2026 SALE YARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 5100 (-3075) SHEEP YARDING: 1555 (-805) LAMB YARDING: 3545 (-2270) Lamb supply fell and quality continues to be good for the well finished trade and heavy weights. The plainer lines were limited in number and there were mainly trade and heavies penned along with some Merino lambs and a small amount of store lambs. All the buyers were operating and competition was very strong particularly for the trade categories with the market much dearer than last sale. Lighter lambs to the re-stockers sold from $268 to $277/head. Medium and heavy trade weight lambs were $25/head dearer and more in places and averaged from 1320c to 1365c/kg cwt. Heavy trade 23 to 24kg sold from $288 to $315/head. Trade Merino lambs sold from $235 to $280/head. Heavy weight lambs were also around $20/head dearer and averaged 1130c to 1230c/kg cwt. Heavy weight lambs sold from $314 to $336 while extra heavy weights sold from $324 to $340/head. Mutton numbers declined and quality was mixed throughout while prices were $10 to $20/head dearer.
