CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX CATTLE SALE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 26TH MAY 2026 SALEYARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 3200 (+1080) Numbers lifted and the rise was mainly in the cow run. The quality was good with a good selection of weaners and yearlings; most yearlings went onto feed. There were a few trade cattle, mostly heavy weights. Prime grown steers and heifers were in short supply with the bulk lacking the finish and went to feeder orders. Around 1400 cows were offered and there was only a limited supply of the prime heavy, high yielding cows. The market sold to very strong trends with gains of 15c to 20c/kg common. Weaner steers sold from 460c to 577c and heifers reached 510c/kg. Feeder steers mostly sold from 480c to 558c/kg and feeder heifers were 15c to 25c/kg stronger ranging from 470c to 514c/kg. Heavy trade steers ranged from 477c to 490c/kg and heifers made to 483c/kg. Prime heavy grown steers and bullock sold from 470c to 490c and the plainer lines to feed ranged between 470c and 540c/kg. Heavy heifers sold from 443c to 479c/ kg. The limited supply of prime heavy cows were 30c stronger selling from 391c to 422c/kg and the leaner 2 score cows ranged from 314c to 377c with re-stockers paying up to 388c/kg. The best of the heavy bulls reached 425c/kg. There were mainly trade and heavy weights penned along with some stores and Merino lambs. All the buyers were operating, and competition was solid with the market firm to dearer. Light lambs to the re-stockers were firm and sold from $160 to $258 while feeders sold from $268 to $289/head. Medium and heavy trade weight lambs were $4 to $5/head dearer and averaged 1170c to 1210c/kg cwt. Heavy trade 23 to 24kg lambs sold from $272 to $300/head. Heavy weight lambs were either side of firm and averaged from 1100c to 1140c/kg cwt. Heavy weight lambs sold from $291 to $312 while extra heavy weights sold from $303 to $340/head. Mutton numbers remained steady and quality improved while prices were dearer $10 to $15/head. Medium Merino ewes sold from $192 to $248/head averaging 880c/kg cwt.
