CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE Sale Date: Tuesday 14th April 2026 Saleyard: CTLX Carcoar Total yarding: 3298 (+1775) Numbers more than doubled and the quality was mixed. There were a few pens of weaners and a heavier run of feeder cattle. Trade cattle were better supplied in the larger yarding and there were more prime grown steers and heifers, but the steers were still in limited numbers and there were not limes of prime cattle. Cow numbers jumped with around 1500 offered. The market sold to mixed trends. Weaner steers sold to 510c, and the few vealers remained firm selling between 460c to 470c/kg. Feeder steers were around 10c softer with the bulk ranging from 400c to 502c with a pen reaching 526c/kg. Feeder heifers were back 4c to 5c with only some of the heavy weights firm and most ranged from 420c to 490c/ kg. Trade steers were 10c stronger and ranged from 460c to 488c/kg, but the trade heifers were back 8c selling from 430c to 460c/kg. Prime grown steers and bullocks lifted 10c and ranged from 408c to 470c and heavy grown heifers were 8c better reaching 475c/kg. The larger offering of cows fell between 15c and 20c with the heavy weights 330c to 368c and the leaner 2 score cows 250c to 330c/kg. SHEEP & LAMB Sale Date: Wednesday 15th April 2026 Saleyard: CTLX Carcoar Total yarding: 8970 (+2188) | Sheep yarding:1980 (-185) I Lamb yarding: 6990 (+2373) Numbers lifted and quality was very good for the better trade and heavy weights along with the plainer lines throughout. There were mainly trade and heavy weights penned, stores were also in reasonable numbers. All the buyers were operating, and competition was good on the trade and eased on the heavy grades. Light lambs to the re-stockers sold from $162 to $235/head. Medium and heavy trade weight lambs were firm to $5/head dearer and averaged 1210c/kg cwt. Heavy trade 23 to 24kg sold from $268 to $302/head. Heavy weight lambs were $5 to $10/head cheaper and averaged 1030c to 1170c/kg cwt. Heavy weight lambs sold from $286 to $308 while extra heavy weights sold from $304 to $350/head. Mutton numbers stayed steady and quality was varied with prices around firm. Medium Merino ewes sold from $170 to $225/head while heavy first cross sold from $208 to $290/head.
