CENTRAL TABLELANDS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE - CTLX PRIME CATTLE SALE DATE: TUESDAY 7TH APRIL 2026 SALEYARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 1523 (-619) SHEEP AND LAMB SALE DATE: WEDNESDAY 8TH APRIL 2026 SALEYARD: CTLX CARCOAR TOTAL YARDING: 6782 (+2912) SHEEP YARDING: 2165 (+572) LAMB YARDING: 4617 (+2340) Numbers lifted by 2340 for a yarding of 4617 lambs. Quality was good with large supplies of trade and heavy lambs, along with smaller numbers of secondary lambs Numbers were back by 619 for a yarding of 1523 cattle. Quality was mostly plain with large supplies of lightweight cattle suitable for re-stockers, along with limited numbers of feeder weights and prime fat cattle. Heavy prime grown cattle and cows were also limited. Not all the regular for re-stockers. All the regular buyers buyers were operating. Young cattle to the trade were firm, prime yearling steers selling from 450c to 470c, and prime yearling heifers, 420c to 473c/ kg. Feeder steers were back 8c, selling from 420 to 515c, while feeder heifers were dearer on the medium weights, 410c to 471c/kg. Lightweight steers to re-stockers sold to 530c, and heifers to 430c/kg. Prime grown cattle were firm, heavy steers sold from 430c to 459c, and heavy heifers, 400c to 468c/kg. Cows were steady, 2 and 3 scores sold from 290c to 365c, and heavy prime cows, 362c to 380c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 390c/kg. BOWYER were operating. Lightweight processing lambs to 18kg were firm selling from $184 to $240/head. Trade weights 20kg to 24kg were firm to $5 cheaper, selling from $260 to $296/ head, averaging 1190c to 1230c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs to 30kg were back $6, they sold from $296 to $344/head, averaging between 1160c and 1190c/kg cwt. Extra heavy lambs over 30kg reached $341/ head. Lambs to re-stockers sold to $266, and heavy hoggets reached $275/head. There was 2165 mixed quality mutton yarded and prices were firm. Merino ewes sold from $172 to $240, and crossbred ewes, $120 to $277/head. Merino Wethers sold from $138 to $231, and heavy Dorper Wethers sold to $288/head. Merino rams sold to $220/head. Most sheep sold in the range of 840c to 860c/kg cwt.
