McPhillamys Gold Project - PUBLIC NOTICE Notice of Amended Development Application for development consent under Part 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW) to carry out proposed State significant development - McPhillamys Gold Project (SSD 9505) In July 2019, LFB Resources NL (ACN 073 478 574) (a wholly owned subsidiary of Regis Resources Limited) made a development application for development consent under Part 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW) (EP&A Act) to carry out the McPhillamys Gold Project (Project). The Project, which is declared to be State significant development under the EP&A Act, involves the construction and operation of a greenfield open cut gold mine, associated infrastructure and a water supply pipeline. The amendments made to the Project are detailed in an Amendment Report (September 2020) which can be accessed on the NSW Planning Portal website. In June 2022, the consent authority for the Project agreed to the further amendment of the development application. The further amendments made to the Project are detailed in a second Amendment Report (May 2022) which can be accessed on the NSW Planning Portal website. On 26 October 2022, the consent authority for the Project agreed to the further amendment of the development application. As detailed in a third Amendment Report (October 2022) which can be accessed on the NSW Planning Portal website, the further amendment made to the Project was to remove an alternative southern water supply pipeline corridor option. The Project water supply pipeline corridor traverses land within the Lithgow, Bathurst and Blayney local government areas. The Project site is depicted in the third Amendment Report (October 2022) for the Project, and the schedule of land to which the Amended Development Application relates is Appendix B to that third Amendment Report. Project description: The first key component of the Project is the mine site, where the ore will be extracted and processed to produce gold dore bars. Up to 7 million tonnes of ore will be processed per year at the mine site over a total project life of 15 years. The mine site will include the open cut mine, tailings storage facility. waste rock emplacement, Run-of-Mine pad, processing plant, administration area, ablutions facility and workshop, water management areas, topsoil stockpiles, roads and ancillary areas. The second key component of the Project is the water supply pipeline. This pipeline would be constructed within an approximately 90 km long corridor and would enable the supply of water from Centennial Coal's Angus Place Colliery and Springvale Coal Services Operations and Energy Australia's Mount Piper Power Station near Lithgow, to the mine site. Consent authority under the EP&A Act: Independent Planning Commission of NSW Prior to determining the Amended Development Application under the EP&A Act, the Independent Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing into the carrying out of the Project and members of the public will have an opportunity to make submissions to the Independent Planning Commission.
